Women’s Book Club
Back by popular demand!
Our summer book club group had so much fun that we decided to keep it going! We are going to go ahead and schedule the next three meetings, based on book suggestions from group members.
We will continue to meet one Monday of the month at 6:30 for great conversation and fellowship. As always, you can get a copy of your book from wherever you'd like. We will read the book throughout the month, and discuss it at the meeting.
September's Book (Meeting on the 28th):The Last Sin Eater--by Francine Rivers (By the author or Redeeming Love, this novel is a fairly quick read. I think we can finish it by the end of this month.A captivating tale of suffering, seeking, and redemption set in Appalachia in the 1850s, The Last Sin Eater is the story of a community committed to its myth of a human “sin eater,” who absolves the dead of their sins, and the ten-year-old child who shows them the Truth.)
October's Book (Meeting on the 26th):Street God: The Explosive True Story of a Former Drug Boss on the Run from the Hood--by Dimas Salaberrios and Angela Elwell Hunt (A member of the group heard about this redemptive story of a criminal-turned-pastor on the radio, and thought it would be a great book for us!)
November's Book (Meeting on DEC. 7th):Gilead: A Novel--by Marilynne Robinson (Also suggested by a group member, this isan intimate tale of three generations from the Civil War to the twentieth century: a story about fathers and sons and the spiritual battles that still rage at America's heart.)
