Cornonavirus (COVID 19)
This morning as we wrapped up our services, I knew it may be a while before we would all gather together again for worship. In cooperation with the trend of recent closures, Nature Coast is choosing to suspend ALL church activities until the end of March. Decisions like this one are never easy, but given what we know, or even don't know about COVID-19, we believe this is the best course of action and the best way to care for the health of those who are vulnerable among us. These are uncharted and interesting times, and we are navigating through them with a certainty only in Christ!
We believe that in these uncertain times we particularly need to hear the promises of God--our only source of comfort and joy! It is our plan to offer Sunday worship online for the duration of the closure. This will include prayer, music, and time spent exploring God's promises through His word. We realize that nothing can replace the pleasure of bodily fellowship on Sunday mornings, but we hope this will serve to keep us connected during this time of distancing. We will miss worshiping together, and sharing in Christ's table! We will miss shaking hands, giving hugs, and seeing the children running around! We will do our best to make our online time together as meaningful and heart-engaging as we can, to help fill this temporary void.
The Nature Coast Family has been through much together over these last 18 years, and God has always been faithful to us as we have loved and shared our lives together. As we head into a season during which we may see less of one another, I bid you to take good care of yourselves and each other. Call each other on the phone often, check in on friends who may be lonely or sick, and if anyone has acute needs, please let me know and we will do our best as a church to address them. We are not suspending our staff during this time! Phone calls and emails to the church office will be monitored so that we can provide care to each other and our community. We will continue to update you as these days move forward.
I'm praying for you all. I'm praying for the Nature Coast, our country and the world. I pray that in the midst of these uncertain times that we will know more than ever the promise and assurance of Christ's unending, never failing, unshakeable love. I'm confident that Christ's promised peace, which passes all our understanding, will calm your hearts and minds in this challenging time. God's oft repeated words 'fear not' remind us that He is with us today, tomorrow, and always!
See you in online worship! Watch for details later this week about worship online!
As I said this morning, God has called and prepared Nature Coast Church for such a time as this! Jesus + Nothing = Everything!
I love you all!
